Movies

Welcome to the NeoZAZ Movie section.

We’ve been making movie to primarily entertain ourselves for over 15 years now – with very, very long gaps between productions.

After a lot of practice and trial and error, we’ve seemed to pick up steam on our movie making this year, so hopefully this will soon become one of the fastest growing sections of the new website. As we move down that path of growth, here’s some of our past work for your to enjoy:

How to Be a Patron

Our very fist film project, done with a rented camera and edited with 2 VCRs. After spending a summer of being forced to view the entire collection of AMC Theaters training videos multiple times, we decided to film the one training tape that was missing – “How to be a Patron”. 12 years later, we re-edited it with new titles, took out a lot of the fandom we experienced at the time, and picked up the pace a little by reducing the runtime by almost 10 minutes.

Die Hard with Butter Flavoring

Our second film, and first with a structured beginning, middle and end. An 8 minute action packed Die Hard parody about a group of terrorists that take over a movie theater. The only thing standing between the terrorists and cinema domination is a rogue usher desperately trying to stay one step ahead of their every move.

2:40

After a 12 year breather we finally got to making another short. We tapped into the parody well once again and went after “24″. Instead of taking the time to film a full 24 hours worth of story, we decided to drop the run time a bit. To, say, 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

The “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” Super Fan Contest

FX Network’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” held a contest to promote its 3rd season. The contest: upload a 1 minute video explaining why you’re the “Sunny Superfan”. We referenced a classic moment for the 2nd season and submitted this entry.

2 Guys 1 Goal

Once DJ G-Regg joined the NeoZAZ family, he quickly got swept up in the film making wave. In a new twist, he and Matt joined up to start filming a documentary. The work is still in progress, but this teaser trailer is available. The documentary is of Gregg and Matt breaking 100 classic arcade game hi scores in as short a time as possible.

… and more to come

Currently in post-production:
Fan Film The Movie – the convention and film festival version of Fan Film the Series
Thaco’s Last Stand – an original film by David Smith the beginning of every D&D game brought to life.
