| Trivia: | In 1992 in the original filming of “How to be a Patron” Matt flubbed the line “movie goer’s day as a whole” by saying “movie goer’s day in a whole”. 16 years later David and Matt decided to finally retify that mistake by re-dubbing the line. on the first take of the re-dub, Matt said “movie goer’s day in a whole” again. The fire saftey scene is a direct parody of the “Fire Emergency Procedures” training tape Matt and David watch when writing this script. The training tape showed a manager in the background directing the same employee over and over again performing different tasks – though not quite as extereme as in “How to be a Patron”. Brian Fecteau, the concessionist in the films most memoriable scene, had no idea he had any lines until the scene began filming. He saw the crew pointing the cue cards and Brian picked up on it. The scene in the video is the first and only take of that scene. There was an “employeed training” segment filmed for the video. It took 7 takes a 4AM to get the result Matt and David were looking for. In the end, the scene was cut from the final product. John Coulter was recruited to play various roles by Matt and David’s friend Mike Putiri. John ended up appearing as the key background characters in the “Manager interview” scene. 16 years later, John was once again recruited to the “Fan Film the Series” production by Matt’s sister Karen in which he plays a key character in the second episode of the series. Matt had no idea this was the same “John” from “How to be a Patron” until 1 week before shooting “Fan Film”. |
